Budget bands

budget is relative to the task, because image, speech and text prices are on different scales. For each task, every GA, priced model in the catalog is ranked by its typical call and split into thirds: cheap, medium and premium.

Models are ranked once each, not once per host, so dozens of cheap hosts of one open model cannot push the makers' own entry models out of cheap. The bands are recomputed with each catalog version, so they follow the market.
